The Races within Dungeons & Dragons Online:

Human - The most versatile of the races. Humans are fast learners who are capable of playing as any class. They acquire a +1 feat during character creation.

Elf - The most ancient race within Eberron. Elves will start with a higher dexterity (+2), however, they will have a lower constitution (-2).

Halfling - Tiny humanoids with high dexterity. However, they have lower strength (-2). Halflings however are cunning, and can use their small size to their advantage in a battle.

Dwarf - A sturdy race of cave dwellers. Dwarves have higher constitution than most (+2), however - they have low charisma (-2). An upside of being a dwarf, is that they are resistant to poison and many other spells. They also excel as great craftsmen.


(Note... These next races have to be purchased, before they can be selected.)

Warforged - A race of automatons that was originally built for battle. However, they have high constitution (+2). Although a downfall, would be that they suffer from reduced wisdom (-2) and charisma (-2). They are also immune to many effects, for example - Poison, Disease, and even paralysis.

Drow Elf - The Drow's, are the dark cousins of the Elves. They also start with higher dexterity (+2), but also higher intelligence (+2), as well as charisma (+2). Downfall would be that they have reduced constitution (-2).

Dungeons & Dragons Online is the latest formerly pay-to-play MMORPG switching over to the free-to-play model. The game is set in the fictional world of Eberron and remains faithful to the D&D franchise. Everything from geography to gameplay mechanics has been successfully ported from the tabletop game to the online virtual world. Unlike other PC games that use the D&D 3.5 ruleset (such as Neverwinter Nights) combat in Dungeons & Dragons Online is fast-paced and feels more like the style found in action-RPGs; players must left-click to swing their weapon each time. The game world functions similarly to the system used in Guild Wars, where players interact freely in towns but all other areas are instanced. Dungeons are filled with puzzles and traps, which help give the game the same ‘feel’ as the tabletop role playing game.
